TANZANIA.

Tanzania is blessed with the winning combination of unparalleled game viewing and dazzling tropical beaches. It is a vibrant and beautiful country with exceptional parks and reserves. Owing to its vastness, the country’s major holiday destinations are divided into four areas:

Northern Safari Circuit; the most popular Tanzania safari route comprising the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara, Tarangire and Kilimanjaro.

Tanzania Coast and Islands; the country’s beaches, especially those on islands like Zanzibar, are breath-taking and very accessible.

Southern Tanzania; includes the wonderfully wild and underrated Selous and Ruaha, Tanzania’s best-kept safari secrets.

Western Tanzania ; head to the far-flung corners of Katavi and Mahale for the ultimate off-the-beaten-path Tanzania safari experiences. These four areas help in coming up with distinct packages that lure tourists globally as they are satisfying and worth any holiday saving.

Below is a 10 DAYS 9 NIGHTS SKY SAFARI IN TANZANIA;

Itinerary

Day 1Airport Pick Up

There will be a pick up from Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be driven to Arusha Coffee Lodge, found at the foot of Mount Meru and hidden amongst one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations. Overnight will be at this lodge. Its unique architecture dates back to the early 1900’s. The interiors permeate of coffee beans-themed design and amenities include a bar and cozy lounge as well as swimming pool and garden terrace.

Day 2 & 3Tarangire National Park

You’ll be driven to Tarangire National Park after breakfast, where you will stay for the next two nights. It is located in Manyara Region. Tarangire is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania after Ruaha, Serengeti, Mikumi, Katavi and Mkomazi. You will arrive and check in at Tree Tops Lodge in time for lunch. There will be an afternoon game drive to watch pythons climb trees, as well as lions and leopards among others. For the bird lovers, keep an eye for the screeching flocks of colourful yellow-collared lovebirds, and the somewhat drabber rufous-tailed weaver and ashy starling. These are all endemic to the dry savannah of north-central Tanzania.  You’ll return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, ready for a whole game drive the next day.

Day 4Lake Manyara National Park

You’ll be driven to Lake Manyara National Park after breakfast, for yet another exciting game drive. You’ll be accommodated at The Manor at Ngorongoro on full board basis. Lake Manyara National Park is a scenic park, providing the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s birdlife. More than 400 species have been recorded here. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants.

Day 5Ngorongoro Crater

This day you will set out after breakfast for a full day game drive at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is an extensive highland area along the eastern arm of the Great Rift Valley, with the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater as its focal point. It is not a national park in the strict sense of the word, but was rather established to conserve wildlife and other natural resources. It exists to safeguard the interests of indigenous people as well as promote tourism. Thus, guests on safari have the unique experience of seeing Maasai herdsmen with their cattle among the tremendous variety of wildlife found in the area. Your full board accommodation will be at The Manor at Ngorongoro.

Day 6 & 7Serengeti National Park

Right after breakfast, you will set off for Serengeti National Park with picnic lunch and game drive en route via Olduvai Gorge, Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. Serengeti is famed for its annual migration where some six million hooves pound the open plains. Between July to October, witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters.
Serengeti offers an exotic game-viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you upclose look of the animals you’ve only seen in National Geographic: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of eland, topi, kongoni, impala and Grant’s gazelle. Your full board accommodation will be at Serengeti Migration Camp.

Day 8 & 9Serengeti North Lobo

After breakfast, you will head north of Serengeti for a full day game drive in the wilderness tracking the Great migration trails. You’ll witness millions of wildebeests, each one driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life: a frenzied three-week bout of territorial conquests and mating; survival of the fittest as 40km (25 mile) long columns plunge through crocodile-infested waters on the annual exodus north. Accommodation will be on full board at Serengeti Migration Camp.

Day 10Departure

You’ll have an early morning game drive at Serengeti North after breakfast, and afterwards transfer to the Lobo airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be driven to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
