Tanzania is Africa’s visual masterpiece. It is a country of magnificent natural splendor, astounding wildlife, seductive beaches, charming ancient towns, ancient archaeological sites, and geological wonders. This lush East African Eden is the stunning backdrop to one of nature’s most remarkable events when it hosts the spectacular Great Migration of one million wild animals. The herds move across the Serengeti Plains and charge through the treacherous crocodile-infested Mara River to reach the Mara Nature Reserve in Kenya.
Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, rises from lush, grassy plains and towers over the land. Its snow-capped peak is a sight to behold. Climbing Kilimanjaro is surprisingly easy, and standing on the roof of Africa is a life-changing experience.
There are numerous game parks and reserves available for tourists to visit for an adventure. One of the best known ones is of course the Serengeti National Park where you will find the Great Migration starting and traversing till it makes its way across the Mara River. You will not only get to witness the Great Migration in the area but also the Big Five and other wildlife. There won’t be a shortage of things to see when you’re at the Serengeti National Park.
Another popular tourist location is the Ngorongoro Crater. This crater is a perfect caldera that used to be a supervolcano that erupted years ago and caved in to form what it is now. It’s a spectacular sight to see as you won’t find anything quite like it just anywhere in the world. Get to experience a picnic lunch while observing the wildlife around you go about their daily routine.
Lake Manyara is another location which should be considered for a stop on a trip to Tanzania. When you’re at Lake Manyara you will be able to roam around and see its famous tree climbing lions, giraffes, elephants, flamingos and warthogs amongst others. It’s truly a beautiful scenery to explore.
