Day 1

Arrive Nairobi - Drive to Mara

We will pick you up from the airport and drive through the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Masai Mara is part of the vast Serengeti plains, famous for their spectacular wildebeest migration and home to the Big Five—lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. You will have an introductory game drive on this day, preparing you for the full-day game drive the next day. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

Large herds of herbivores graze on the plains, cheetahs and leopards hide in their locations. Masai Mara is the heart of Kenyan tourism, with large numbers of mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and over 400 bird species recorded in the reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and for this reason, a visitor hardly misses seeing the Big Five—buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino. The midday meals will be at a picnic area near the Mara River migration point. The adventure continues until the evening before you return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.

This is one of the main reasons why doing the 4-day safari is justified. The midday meals will be at a picnic site close to the Mara River migration point. You have a full day to explore the Mara.

In the evening, you will visit the Masai Village, a unique cultural experience that will engage and intrigue you. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay, reflecting on the day’s unique encounters.
