This Classic Conservancy Safari visits diverse eco-systems: Your first stop, West Gate Conservancy in Samburu district in Northern Kenya, commands breath taking views across the arid Northern Frontier District towards Mt Kenya. Next, you will explore Ol Pejeta Conservancy, with 90,000 acres of blissfully uncrowded wilderness to enjoy quality game viewing. Kicheche Laikipia is situated around a water dam, home to an array of birdlife, with frequent visits from the resident game including elephant and rhino. The safari then flies down to the Rift Valley, to your final home in the bush. Saruni Mara camp is located in one of the exclusive conservancies in the Masai Mara. The Mara North conservancy offers a high-quality safari experience; with very few vehicles permitted access, you are guaranteed exclusive game viewing.
Arrival
Day 1
Samburu National Reserve
Upon arrival at JKIA, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Wilson airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Kalama airstrip. Upon arrival at the airstrip your Sasaab guide will be there to welcome you and drive you to the camp – Sasaab – whilst enjoying a short game drive en route. Kalama offers truly exceptional safari experiences in an area renowned for the ‘Samburu Special Five’ (Grevy’s Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich, Gerenuk and Beisa Oryx). At the camp you will have some time for leisure, lunch and afternoon tea. Then you will set off for your afternoon game drive followed by evening sundowner drinks overlooking the vast spread terrain. Arrive back in camp in time for showers and drinks & dinner. The rooms at Sabaab are enormous Moroccan / Swahili style rooms with open air ensuite bathrooms, private plunge pools and expansive views.

Day 2
Samburu National Reserve
You will be taken on two gamedrives today, one in the morning from 6.15am to 9am, before breakfast and the other in the late afternoon after lunch from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. As your safari is private your gamedrive timings are flexible, useful if you are travelling with children, or are on a honeymoon. You may also choose to have a full day game drive [ one for the whole day] with a packed picnic lunch at no extra cost. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Samburu National Reserve
Wake up in paradise to the sounds of wildlife in the background. Today you opt for more game drive adventures, whilst in the afternoon – when the heat of the day gets heavy – you may enjoy relaxing by the pool. Sundowners & dinner in the pleasant lodge overlooking the breathtaking landscape of Samburu. Dinner and overnight at the lodge

Day 4
Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, you will head off to your next home in the bush by road, approximately 3hrs drive. Upon arrival at Ol Pajeta gate, your new driver guide will transfer you to camp in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, journey time is approximately 30 min wildlife permitting. Lunch at camp then relax until afternoon tea is served. Venture out onto the rolling plains on a game drive to enjoy the wilderness on offer. Upon returning to camp, join other guests for a drink around the campfire or in the cozy lounge tent where you will join your hosts for dinner.

Day 5
Ol Pejeta Conservancy
An early start to the day with piping hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate brought to your tent. This morning take a longer game drive and enjoy a sumptuous picnic breakfast out on the plains. Return to camp for an al-fresco lunch and relax viewing the game and birdlife around the waterhole. In the afternoon you have the option of visiting the Chimpanzee Sanctuary prior to continuing on your evening game drive until dusk. Enjoy night drives (where applicable) if you would like to view an array of nocturnal species with the aid of a filtered spotlight. Drinks tonight will be around the campfire or in the cosy lounge & dinner will be served in the adjacent dining tent.
There are a range of activities to choose from including Ngare Ndare day forest visit & canopy walk, canoeing, Mountain Biking, Child Activities (tracking skills, bow and arrows, beading, fire-making, spear throwing, camp discovery walks), lion tracking, mountain biking or take a walking excursion with one of our guides and a ranger. Walks range from 2-3 hours and can be adapted to suit your preference.

Day 6
Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Today’s itinerary is flexible and you can discuss with your guide on the previous evening and plan for today’s schedule. You can either have a relaxed breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9:00 AM with packed lunch and return back to lodge late afternoon around 6:00 PM. Or you can depart at 6:00 AM on an early morning game drive (This is the best time to see the animals and a good chance to witness hunt/kill). Later return to accommodation for breakfast and relax for a bit and depart on an afternoon game drive with packed lunch. you will stop at a picnic spot for having packed lunch and later depart on a game drive till the park is closed. Around 6:00 PM return to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Mara North Conservancy
Following a leisurely breakfast depart for Nanyuki airstrip for your morning flight to Masai Mara. Upon arrival at the airstrip your camp guide will be there to welcome you and drive you to camp, whilst enjoying a short game drive en route. At the camp you will have some time for leisure, lunch and afternoon tea. Then you will set off for your afternoon game drive followed by evening sundowner drinks overlooking the plains. Arrive back in camp in time for showers and drinks around the camp fire.

Day 8
Mara North Conservancy
Rise early with tea or coffee brought to your tent then set off as the sun rises for a wilderness awakening game drive. The verdant plains host a fabulous array of plains game such as gazelles, impala, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and eland. Never far away are the predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena which our guides are finely tuned to finding. Enjoy a picnic breakfast in the most magnificent outdoor setting on the plains before winding your way back to camp. After a leisurely al-fresco lunch back at camp, relax, read, watch the resident bird life or enjoy a siesta in your tent. Afternoon tea is followed by game driving in another area of the conservancy/Reserve where you may see jackals roaming, warthog bathing or impala jousting. Sun downer drinks are served in a picturesque spot as you watch the sun sink below the horizon. Return to camp to exchange stories around the campfire with the other guests before your mouth watering three course evening meal.

Day 9
Mara North Conservancy
Today is an opportunity for a full day outing to explore the further reaches of the Conservancy/Reserve. Breakfast will be served in camp before setting off with your guide into new terrain. On the menu today you may encounter a cheetah stalk an unsuspecting Thompson gazelle, watch hippo bathe alongside crocodile in the river or watch a territorial wildebeest chase off his rivals. Pull up at a shaded spot and watch as your picnic lunch unfolds before you. In the afternoon continue traversing the magnificent terrain and witness the never ending interactions on the plains. You may finish the day watching the fascinating interactions of one of our lion prides with lionesses lolling about, cubs playing and the males emitting thunderous roars.

Depart
Savor your coffee on the private deck of your tent, soaking up the tranquil view. Early mornings offer the best game viewing, so you head out timely on your last game drive. Your guide will share his deep knowledge and love for the wild with you, keeping a sharp eye out for lions, elephants and other rare species. A generous and delectable breakfast awaits your return to the camp. You will later be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to Nairobi. Upon arrival at Wilson Airport, you will be met by your driver for a brief city tour. You will visit the giraffe centre where you will get to feed the giraffes, pass via the old Karen Blixen farmhouse from “Out of Africa” fame – now a museum; as well as the Kazuri Beads Factory, which employs over 300 women. You will later have dinner at the famous carnivore restaurant where you will get to enjoy a variety of African cuisine including game meat.
