You will be met by our representative at the airport and be transferred to Amboseli National Park, famous for its big game and scenic beauty with the landscape dominated by Mt. Kilimanjaro. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Have lunch and embark on afternoon game drive at 1600hrs. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
You will have the morning game after breakfast, returning to the lodge for lunch and rest. Afternoon game drive will kick off at 1600hrs, returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight. There’s a stunning variety of wildlife in this abundant park such as zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, caracal and serval cat, lion, leopard, cheetah, and buffalo among others. There are also over 400 species of birds, including the bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle, martial eagle and pygmy falcon. Visitors mainly come to watch the huge herds of elephants. The bull elephants have some of the largest tusks in all of Kenya. That is Amboseli at a glance!
After breakfast, drive to the lush foothills of the Aberdare ranges. You arrive for a late lunch at the Aberdares Country Club, an elegant baronial style country home set in sprawling superbly landscaped gardens. You will then transfer to Aberdares National Park entering through the Ark gate. The first opportunity for wildlife viewing comes in a very unique setting, the Ark. The Ark was built to resemble the biblical Ark where you will stay overnight and have the opportunity to view animals as they come to drink along a natural waterhole. Here you may see elephant, rhino, bongo (rare nocturnal antelopes with black on tan stripes) and other species. Dinner and overnight will be at the Ark Lodge.
Your breakfast will be served at the lodge. You will then drive to the world renowned Maasai Mara Game Reserve, which means the “spotted plains” in Maa language. The park is home to the greatest concentration of large mammals and is widely recognized as Africa’s ultimate wildlife reserve. The park neighbors Tanzania’s Serengeti and has therefore become famous its annual migration of wildebeest. You will check in at Mara Sopa Lodge where you will have your lunch before embarking on afternoon game drive at 1600hrs. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.
In this full day at the park, you will have the opportunity to explore this great reserve in depth. You may see elephant, giraffe, prides of lion, and thousands of impala, topi, grants and Thomson’s gazelle. Birds are prolific including immigrants, 450 bird species have been recorded among them 57 birds of prey. The Mara is the scene of annual migration of millions of wildebeest up from the Serengeti plains in search of water and grasses. You’ll be accommodated at the lodge on full board basis.
You will have an early morning game drive, returning to the lodge at 9am for breakfast. You will then check out and depart for Nairobi and drop off at the hotel for an extended stay or at the airport for your flight back home. This will mark the end of your 6 days Kenya’s finest luxury safari.
